| PARENT INVOLVEMENT IN THE
DEVELOPMENT OF CENTER POLICIES AND PROGRAM
In order to involve parents in the development of the program,
the following objectives are established:
1. Provide a planned program of experiences that supports and enhances
the parent’s role as the principal influence in his/her child’s
education and development.
2. Provide the following kinds of opportunities for parent participation
through:
a. Direct involvement in program planning, decision making, and
operations.
b. Participation in classroom and other program activities as paid
employees, volunteers, Board members, Parent Advisory Council members,
and observers.
c. Serving as representatives on the Parent Advisory Council and
the Board of Directors.
d. Developing and organizing parent functions and activities.
PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL
Purpose
The purpose of the Parent Advisory Council shall be to provide
representation for the parent body in ways that will benefit the
children, the parents, and the community.
Goals
1. To assist the staff and all other persons responsible for the
development and operation of all components, including the curriculum
in the Early Childhood Program.
2. To work closely with classroom teachers, the administration,
and all other component staff to carry out the daily activities
of the program.
3. To plan, conduct, and participate in formal, as well as informal,
programs and activities for Center parents and staff.
4. To assist in communication with parents to encourage their participation
in the program.
5. To aid in recruiting volunteer services from parents, community
residents and organizations, and to assist in mobilization of community
resources to meet identified needs.
6. As representatives on the Board of Directors:
a. Participate in the development of policies and procedures that
affect Center operations.
b. Serve on Board committees.

PARENTAL VISITS
Parents are welcome to visit the Center at any time. Observation
booths are available for parents to observe their children and teachers.
